tstat housing and tstat?

i was thinking about gettin the cfm upgraded housing but i was wondering what the benifit of running a 180 degree tstat has?

fan will kick in earlier.... something worth considering if you live in hot climate and like to beat your car in traffic.

Fan and thermostat have no relation.
Cooler T-Stat won't cause fan to kick on any sooner or later, vs engine temp.

Basically, there's no advantage to a cooler T-Stat.

Sorry I love CFM and have bought tons of stuff from them but that kit is way too high 170.00 with 180 thermostat not including shipping. I just did mine and paid way less with ford parts and normal TStat about 132.00 shipped. The only thing needed was a 1/8 brass plug from a hardware store which was 2.00.
Installed and no leaks about and hour and a half just sayin..........

Parts list with normal thermostat you'll need three of the bolts if you order online.

I just upgraded (IMO) mine over to the contour housing.....with a 180 degree stat. Runs about 217-219* hwy speed (75) and say 219-222* city driving, 75-85* weather. Now, I'll have to get back to you on 90-100* weather.

That's right......oh, today I ran about 125 miles hwy.....a/c blowing, coolant temp was about 222-224* running at 75 mph......going up slight grades ( overpasses ) got up to 233* .....coming down the grade...engine at about 15% load.......fell off to 210...then back to 222* and so on. Thats with a 180* stat.......and ALL new cooling system. Smokin......later.

Going to a cooler thermostat can help HUGH with engine safety and performance

Cooler engine runs safer , makes more TQ , less chance for spk knock or detonation all of these are hugh

Down side is if you go the 180 rought you need to also add a tune to lower the low and high speed Raid fans , if this is done properly and a 180 added you shouldnt see over 198-208 depending on how your driving
