That's the one thing that really stood out to me on the graph. Especially from 3000-3500 and then at 4300-redline.

The good news is that this is a definite start.

If you want giant gains from something as simple as a tune, then go buy a car with a turbo. Fact of life.

Those of you who already have mods, you should rejoice because those of us who are actually familiar with SCT and cars in general know that tuning a car after you've already modified it will yield even larger gains over stock.

I won't make any pointed personal attacks, but some of you sound like complete ignoramuses when your butts land on the keyboard.
You do realize that your post comes off in very much the same manner, right? You're just as much instigating with it.

Again, there is no need for animosity here. Not everyone is familiar with tuning, and no matter what SCT does there are going to be people that complain. We complain when they don't tune, we complain when they do. Welcome to Mk3, when the Focus decided to try and go 'upscale'.

Either way, things will only get better from here. For those that are still learning, Tom is entirely right-no two cars will be the same. Take some time and browse the Mk3 dyno threads and you'll get a better feel for it. Some dyno higher with small mods, some less with more.

But imagine (for discussion purposes only) every single one of them having the added increase of a tune...we're talking about possibly having some 200HP N/A cars with bolt-ons and tune.

Congrats on cracking the ECU.

As for everyone complaining about numbers.. realize this is a slow, NA Focus. Not an ST. Tunes on NA vehicles are never as impressive as they are on turbo or supercharged vehicles.

I agree with dyn085, a 10% gain with nothing other then 93Oct and a tune on a NA motor is impressive to me.

Plus tuning should allow for turbos and SC to be added safely.

Long time lurker, first time poster...

Is there any chance these tunes will help eliminate the off-idle throttle response lag?

You know, that out-to-lunch period between when I mash the pedal and when the car gets around to pulling out into traffic...or a turn...or off a light...

Cheerz!

Short answer is, yes! Throttle delay is all but gone now.

Thanks for the feedback, Red. That alone would be worth the price of admission to me; after my first year with the car, the throttle lag is really the only substantial gripe I have.

Cheerz!
