Im usually not one to further an argument, I was only lurking on this site and considering buying a focus but I couldn't help posting cause this just bothered me lol. From what I have found searching specs a stock focus is a few hundred pounds lighter than a fox body depending on the year and trim level of both cars. I know the svt focus is heavier at about 2700 but that is still a tad lighter than the figures i see for most fox bodies. I thought DeuceCoupe's post of quarter mile mustang times was rather easy to interpret, after seeing that how can someone even say that any stock mustang can beat any stock focus?! I also own a 1991 5.0 'stang and have put on a set of stainless steel shorty headers, and about all ive noticed was a little more sound. Im sure i gained a few horsepower but 30? i've talked to other 'stang owners too and have never heard of that kind of gain. Sounds more like what you get when you put on better heads.

I drag race and auto x my focus. but I am a lot better at the drag strip. More seat time at the strip.

IMO if you enjoy running it at the drag strip, then yes it's a drag car.
Last time I went I ran a 15.07 @ 93.66mph and I beat a 350Z. Granted he spun the tires and had a bad launch, but he couldn't catch me. That's a good feeling

ive seen broncos hitting low 10's on 1/4 mile, my friend owns a caddillac escalade and is hitting low 13's motor low 12's on n20 ,,, point being that i believe these vehicles are not meant for 1/4 mile but it sure as hell wont stop them. it pretty much depends on the driver on his idea of racing and the vehicle that he has available. i agree that the focus is not a drag car and i believe it was only meant to be nothing more than a gas saver but im pretty sure it doesnt stop us from modding our cars????
