This thread makes me laugh. A late-model Civic or Accord is just as easily an oldsmobile (if you'll pardon the pun) as a Mk.3 Focus.

Great Depression? You're kidding me, right? That was 80 years ago. If they were old enough to remember it, they'd still be well over the normal age of senior drivers on the road.

I think you guys just have some very selective eyes. I see all sorts of people driving Mk.3s. I see more 'old ladies' driving WRXs than I do Focii.

I should also mention that my neighbor is 86 years young, and she drives a callaway corvette..

I've also met a wonderful young lady of 75 who rides a Yamaha R1 on an almost daily basis.

I only hope I can be that badass when I am a decrepit old fart.

Go her! I don't have the nads to ride an R1. Those things are monsters. A friend of mine has a permanent injury thanks to an accident involving getting trapped for 150ft under his sliding, low-siding, R1.

The Focus is simply popular and appeals to a very wide age range. It depends on the person since I don't think I'll be driving a Buick or such just becasue I hit a certain age.
My mom is very fit 64 year old woman and her last several cars she's owned since she was in her mid 40s have been a '92 Z28,'98 Corvette,'03 Mazda RX-8,'06 mazda MX-5,'09 MINI (yellow with black stripes) and now a '13 Mini Baker Street edition.

It's the person not the age.

Its such a practical car for older people. They are usually driving solo or with a partner, so they don't need a mini-van. Having a hatch is always nice. They get such good mileage. And a lot of those fogies remember the fords of old and have chosen to forget the 80s.

With that said, I mostly see people < 50 driving foci around me.

That would be a hilarious ad-slogan.

Well its the best selling car in the world, I'd imagine you will see many folks from many different demographics driving it. It's a nice car that can be affordable to many people.

Either way, the more people buying/driving it, the better it is for us. More parts and other cool things will be made available for it. The only time I see people that look like me are when I go to the Focus meets; otherwise its just a people mover driving 100% oem cars

I always see a lot of women driving this car in general. Mainly 20 and up. The young and old enjoy this car. Apparently I bought a girl's car.

Oh well, its fun to drive and looks nice.
