UPDATE - Depressing day.......

Well, 4:00PM hits and its time to go home from work. Jump in the car and I am on my way. Driving on I-5 from Woodland to Roseville about 1/2 a mile from Sacramento Int. exit and all of a sudden traffic came to an abrupt stop.. It caught me off guard and didn't have time to hit the breaks, SLAM!!

Slammed into a 2006 Chevy Silverado Truck, hit him so hard that it spun him and right into the guard rail. We are both fine, I am sore and I am sure he is also..

Question, there was quite a bit of damage to my Focus SE and wondered if anyone thinks it will be totaled? Please let me know what you think!!

The bad thing is I have had this only under a month. I drive the same route every single day and never worry about getting in an accident. Never been in something like that before and I am 42 years old. So bummed!!

i know exactly how you feel. i've done the same thing in my coupe last summer. the hit wasn't as bad as yours maybe but the damage is still on my car. time has healed that mental wound for me so i've learned to live w/ it and try to be more careful.

EDIT: WOW. just seeing the pics. to me it doesn't look very bad but you never know... hope it's not totaled out.

You knocked it's eyeball out.

Glad you're ok. Doesn't look totaled imho, but I'm sure you'll know soon enough.

If you hit the truck hard enough to spin it off in some direction, you better believe it's totaled. Just because it doesn't look bad from the outside, that means nothing.

Were you not paying attention? Cell phone maybe?

I don't know... it might not be totaled. It looks like the truck was high enough that it didn't compress the frame rail (which is designed to crumple).

Probably totaled, sounds like you impacted that truck with a decent amount of force
