I would really love to do cams, felix. I am just nervous I guess because I have never done cams on anything before, so I don't know what I'm doing. Lol. Paying someone would be quite expensive for just cams.

For just cams= which controls the valves= lift & duration Is there any Focus Fanatic's near where you live? If not you can come over here, I'll show you how. This time I'll not need to remove the chain cover, for I'll remember the chain tensioner.

I'm in the same boat...bought the cams and I'm looking for a mechanic to pay under the table. The whole process is a little intimidating since I have no family out here to help me out and I live in a "rural" area with few mechanics. I'm hoping I can get these installed for around $100 but might be dreaming!

I bought my car last year before winter so i havent even got it on a drag strip yet.
So i dont even know what these run down the 1/8th mile. but my fiends got a v6 tiburon he ran 10.1 and im now side by side with him when we race. still pulls me after 140km/h but 0-140km/h theres no difference.

Its petty cool that 1500$ on upgrades can bring our cars into another class of cars :)

i got quoted on cams by my mechanic. its was 300$ just for the cam install. If you go stage 2 and have to get the spings and retainers its 500$.
His shop rate is 75$hour. hope that helps you guys out a bit :)
If you dont need you car for a weekend, its definatly something to learn. even buy that book that tell you how to take apart everything in you car(cant remember what its called)
and im sure if you came into problems someone here would be able to give you insight

How many stickers will be indicative of how much HP.

Figure each sticker adds about 5hp. However, after 12 stickers, each additional sticker only adds about 2hp. If colors of said stickers are equal in both shade and age, multiple the HP number by 1.045 and add that to your existing number. If you have at least 6 stickers stacked and they are evenly spaced and are of equal color...well, thats 35rwhp right there (yeah, I said RWHP).

Hope this helps.

The 3M stickers tend to dyno a little higher than ebay ones.

Thanks, jugglethese. Mine runs a 10.2 in the 1/8th WITHOUT a header, so, yeah. Like yours though, mine loses steam on the high end or upper mph. I just might get the courage to tear into it with a book for help and give cams a try. We'll see.
