Bye bye dct issues...

I just couldn't take the this nonsense with my focus anymore and traded it today for a 2014 Fusion. I got tired of all the annoyances that many people have. Luckily I was able to keep the same payment. I definitely recommend to anyone that is able to trade their car for a fusion, to do it. The new fusions drive great. I only had my focus for over a year and couldn't take it anymore. It's no wonder the dealership had so many in their used lot.

I'd rather move to something in the Focus' class, the Fusion is too big and conservative for my tastes. The Focus is more tossable in the corners; I drove a Fusion and just too boaty feeling to me.

I agree. When I went to trade my '12 Focus in I considered the Fusion and other midsizers but I just don't need the extra space nor do I want reduced handling all for probably $5k more for equivalent features.

When all was said and done I got back into a Focus and I don't regret it.

But congrats to those who really wanted the bigger car (with no DCT) and were able to get it.

It's interesting that the Sonata is going to a 7-speed DCT, at least as an option.

The Fusion was still a very nice car but wouldn't replace the feeling I get during a spirited drive from my Focus.

I got an SE (gray) with the tech package which includes, dual zone climate, my ford touch, etc. Has the upgraded smart gauges and some extras. It's the 2.5L. I drove the 1.5 ecoboost but honestly couldn't tell any difference in power and the gas is only 1 or 2 mpg difference, so I didn't care about having the 2.5, plus saved 1k in option. Highway mpg from work was 36 mpg average, so it's not bad. I don't miss the leather seats since they always burned my legs in the heat. Main things I will miss is my navigation and the keyless start and entry. But to me it's worth the sacrifice.

The fusion might not be for everyone but I definitely love it. There are a lot of people Who've said they can't do a trade because they haven't had the loan for a long time, but I had one hell of a deal and I bought my focus in February 2013 and kept the same payment.

Even one guy in the service department said it was a smart move. The service advisor said they have had HUNDREDS of fiestas and focuses have come back needing new clutches. At least they admitted its a major issue.
