Unhappy back to stock i go

well guys, the day has come. i've decided that the cost / benefit ratio of getting this car to be a little quicker is just not worth it. sad, but with an ATX we all knew it was just a matter of time. actually, the car is mostly there. the only thing left is the exhaust, which wil also be stock here in a little bit (i may keep the bosal, but all the parts up to it are or will be stock once i get done).

the car WILL keep the suspension, the wheels, the tires, and the SVT bumpers, though. all show and no go . the stereo also stays.

i dunno. i just need this car to be reliable. it's my daily driver, and it seems that the more i play with it, the more little things keep coming up. i know it's the rule of the game, but i just can't have that when it's my only ride. i eventually plan on having another car soon (new mustang or old pick-up), and those will probably become the toys to play with while the focus becomes old faithful.

anywho, shed no tear. the car and i will still be around, just not in any sort of hyped-up form.

Mike

I have stopped engine mods on mine and are just concentrating on the suspension aspects and braking. Mine is an ATX and runs well but I also know that it will never be as quick as an MTX is.

not ditching it. more that i'm just re-defining its role. it's going to be the dependable daily driver while i go buy some other toys and play with them.

I love my SVT but I am still pretty new around here. Sorry to hear about your car but I know exactly how you feel. I am lucky cause I can always at least snag one of my parents cars.

I came to the same decision as well. I was sick of the weak ATX and was having the same exhaust rattle whiteboy had. I finally go fed up with it and sold it and my mustang for a car that is more fun. I love the way the Focus looks and you guys that can actually stick with it and make the car fast and look good I respect a lot. As for me I am sticking with the STi mainly stock and buying a used mustang in the future. I will always miss the handling of the focus though.

Yeah it sucks but it's a fact, seems like alot of people are slowing down their modding progress or backing it up.

It's a huge cost in modding and honestly you don't get the power, never the power your really looking for (maybe with a turbo) and especially with an ATX. It's the way it is. You can only get so much power from a focus......

Good luck with your plans Mike.....
