Take a flat head screw driver to the back of the connector where it looks like a pull tab. Just rock it real easy with the screwdriver, then press it down with your thumb.

They are on there good and just need a little help with the screwdriver.

Take some photos along the way. I'd be interested in seeing the progress.

I'm sorry to hear about the engine letting go. But if you could please take pictures I along with a few others would appreciate it.

I think the engines are meant to be pulled from the top. My car has two lift points on opposite corners to hook up to the cherry picker.
Are you replacing it with the same engine? Perhaps it's time for the st setup.

I would have love to upgrade it a bit, but no budget for it as of this moment... I got a stocker from a friend of mine for like $600 with 1/4 of the mileage that mine had... so I won't complain!

so far

What mileage did yours let go at? And just curious why you let one O2 sensor stay unplugged?

Sorry though. Sucks big time. I probably couldn't afford to fix it.

Moved this to "Engine & Transmission Swap" as I can see it helping people out in future referencing.

one of the O2 wasn't plugged because I didn't have an extender for it...

the engine had 46 000km so about 28500 miles

If It was the secondary o2 it should have been fine, but if you left the primary (wideband) sensor out I can see how that would cause issues.

Hopefully you get it ll swapped out ok! $600 is a steal for that engine, too...
