need help ztech missing and spuddering (SOLVED!)

so i just put a new motor in my zx3 hooked it all up but now its missing when on gas or accelerating not sure what to do... checked wires and plugs there fine cleaned up the throttle body, replaced TPS cleaned up MAF switched coil packs. i did have one rubber hose that would not stop pinching shut i do believe that is the main vac line so i did replace that hose. i checked the wiring unplugged the injectors checked the insides of wires checked the coil pack wires i dont know what else to do... i do think its a vac leak somewhere but idk i did spray carb cleaner on hoses with nothing from the motor as in a rev up so anyone seeing something im not?!

Sputtering?

Pull on the individual wires on the coil-pack connector. Those cause problems sometimes, but typically the engine cuts out.

Ok vacuum: there are only so many vacuum lines. You've got the big one to the power brake booster. The PCV line, which might be one that you had collapsing- IDK. You've probably got one small one going to the EGR, and there's one going to the Evaporative emissions Purge valve. There might even be one going to the canister itself depending on how it works in a Zetec. There is a vacuum schematic called the Vehicle Emissions Control Information sticker under the hood somewhere. It might be on the bottom of the hood, or it might be on the firewall. That shows you where all your vacuum is connected.

That reminds me- the DPFE might be the issue. That one causes issues. The DPFE is what senses exhaust flow to tell the EGR when to open.

You should also pay very close attention to the routing of your wires around the EGR tube- the hot pipe that comes off the exhaust manifold. More than one FF has had problems with harnesses in that area getting moved around and melted. That can cause issues, and has caused engine running issues.

well the hose that i had problems with and replaced was the main vac line. the motor is running rich i can smell it when im running the car. i did have a code come up so i had it tested it came up O2 sensor bank 1 and 2 so looked around noticed the sensor was not connected on the bottom of the cat so i hooked that up and replaced the other bank 1 sensor light went out but still running rich i checked the coil pack harness a few times and nothing.. cleaned up the MAF and its driving me nuts.. just cutting out i thought maybe it was my firing order but its not i have them right and i replaced the DPFE. im not sure where to look now. im going to replace the MAF and see what happens ill keep everyone posted.

Can't remember who it was offhand that recently did a swap & ended up finding an issue with one of the main harness connectors...

Just a quick thought in case it applies...
