Oh, and just as an aside, it always astounds me when people say they have XXXX number of songs...

I have just about every single song I've ever heard in my entire life on my computer and that's still just under 1000 songs.

Maybe it's because some people's lives are longer than others? I'm just about 47, so far, I have purchased around 500 Cds. I figure at around 15 songs per, fudging that some are 2 CD sets etc., that's around 7,500 songs. I have also purchased a bunch from iTunes, I think around 200. Then there are CDs I've borrowed & downloaded as well. Therefore it is comepletely feasable, atleast in my opinion, that someon can own in excess of 6,000 songs.

Does anyone have an knowledge or information to share about this? Thanks for you help.
It works. I have the same situation as you (i have close to 15,000 songs though). Just leave it indexing for a while. I did a 1hour drive and left it indexing and by midway through it was done and all commands were working fine. It will stay "indexed" until you unplug the ipod.

Did I say it wasn't feasible? I said I was astounded.

mmmfloorpie: I'm with you although I do have 3000 songs I struggle to find others to add to that number. Once I cracked 3000 songs it's been months since I've added a significant number of songs.

the problem w/ doing it via a jump drive is, acc'd to sync people at ford, you can't use voice commands to choose playlists, etc... you can do that only thru a usb connected device such as an ipod.

Before I did this reset, my cel would connect automatically when I got in the car, now it's not doing that. I went thru the settings on both the phone & Synch with no luck. Any ideas?
Thanks
I now have this part sorted. I removed the cel from synch and did a reverse pair with my cel. Now it seems to be working fine. My cel autmatically links to the Blue Tooth now.
