2 sponges,
first wipe I use a modified sponge(made it look a little cheesy) with a net over it(rinse after every wipe), then a finer sponge, then dry with towel and buff with microfibre cloth, I use the Optimum No Rinse and Shine method and do a panel at a time, good results with no swirls....

I use all microfiber goodies from washing to drying to engine detail. My engine is so clean you can eat off of it.

Wash mitt, foam gun, then a final wipe down with detail spray and a microfiber towel.

Microfiber towels to wash. I don't dry because I use spot-free rinse.

I use a microfiber towel that is the size of a washcloth. Will probably switch to a microfiber mitt soon though just to make things a little easier though. I use microfiber for everything except drying.

I use a large sponge wrapped in microfiber. Does a nice job and is extremely soft.
