Do you use a food strainer or a grit guard?

Grit guards are great!

Maximus:

I am using a Grit Guard that fits in the bottom of the five gallon bucket. I also went high tech on the bucket & got the one with the casters on it. When everyone is home, there are 5 cars here, and I detail the son & dau-in-law's Vibe a couple of times a year. Also a couple of neighbors are contacting me about stuff since the weather is starting to break to the better now.....

I use the boars hair brush, the website below is your one stop shop for all your Focus cleaning needs. I swear by this stuff, its a little expensive but once you build up your collection you will never use anything else. If anyone has any questions let me know. No, I dont work for this company :-D

nanowax carwash soap
Sonus Ultimate Wool Wash Mitt
Blue Coral Chamois
Meguiars 4 stage wax w/ Orbital Buffer:
I use a clean applicator after each application and after each removal;

1st clay bar entire car with showtime polish and bar
2nd Cleaner Wax (smells kinda funky but works)
3rd Polish Wax (i love the last 2 stages they smell like bananas)
4th Carnuba Wax

I use this thing called "Magicloth"
http://www.usjesco.com/magicloth.asp

I bought at our Post Exchange. It's basically a Chamois, but it still works really well. We bought it at a bargain price of $20 per package, and I'd say it's worth it. You can take it and cut it in half; one for washing and one for drying. It's been working for be on both washing and drying my Focus.

I also use Turtle Wax brand car wash and wax.

Thats a whole lot of wax you use on there sonicblues, I bet that baby shines! When I'm in a hurry I use the Mr. Clean Autodry system and that works really well and then you don't have to worry about drying it after. I also use meguars quick detailer if there are any streaks. That works for me I will be trying that four step wax soon though!

I keep the car waxed every 3 to 4 months so I just go to the local car wash and use the high pressure rinse cycle for 4 or 5 minutes. Drive back home (approximately 1 mile) so it can air dry and then finish drying w/chamois... no swirls and wax last longer.
