no windex?

As I sit here looking through my dirty Windows I start to wonder...This might have come up a time or two,but does windex really destroy tint? Or is that just a myth ? What happens and why? Any pics of damage would help too.

Yes it does, becasue it contians amouna. Amouna is what they use to remove window tint.

BTW windex sucks all around. Get Stoner's Invisable Glass, works much better.

Never used ammonia-based cleaners (such as Windex) on tint. Use a non-ammonia cleaner. Several "tint safe" car window cleaning sprays that do not use ammonia are available for this exact purpose. A soft cloth dampened with mildly soapy water followed by one with clean water to rinse and another to dry are also effective for mild amounts of dirt.

Plus what norcalfocus mentioned, I heard the stoner's invisible glass works well.

Stoner's Invisible Glass.

Love the easy to apply foam (non-runny like liquid spray is) for exterior glass.
For the interior I just spray it on a microfiber towel and clean with that.

another vote for Stoners..

Meguiars Detailers Line glass cleaner works great too, and you dilute it 10 to 1, so a gallon will last a "normal" user YEARS.

do NOT use ANY ammonia based product on anything automotive.

Ammonia is a pretty strong solvent to be using on something like car tint. Don't use Windex on anything that's not just straight glass.
