Clutch chatter

Just had my clutch replaced and aside from it being super hard to drive at first which has changed in the 50 or so miles ive put on it theres still a little squeak when going in to first gear which I assume is clutch chatter. Is this normal for a new clutch?

It is common for our cars to chatter.

So I was way off on diagnosing this as clutch chatter. Its a squeal that happens when accelerating from a stand still, sounds almost like a serpentine belt squeal. one day it happened all day, I even got a squeal all the way through first once, and a 2nd gear squeal a couple times. today it only happened a few times but it started chirping today. Ive had it happen in 1st 2nd and 6th. its just a bird chirp noise, foot on gas, just cruising no foot on clutch. Also everyonce in a while when coasting to a stop with my foot on the clutch I get a growling noise that stops either when the RPMs get low or I pop it in to N and let of the clutch pedal. The clutch was installed on Friday and its going back to the shop Monday (tomorrow). Sounds like throw out bearing to me which was replaced along with the clutch.

mine's doing the exact thing, i chalked it up to a throw-out bearing. second guessing it now cause yours is new and doing the same thing. started one day a few weeks back out of no where! driving me nuts cause my car sounds like s. hopefully someone will chime in on this one.

Well heres an update. Took it to the shop on monday and chatted with the shop manager and he began to describe how complex the clutch and flywheel set up is on our cars and told me that theres going to be some noise for the first 500 miles. He said everything in there has to find its home and then it will all fit together and quiet down. He told me to bring it back after 500 miles if it was still making noises. well ever since i talked to him its only made one squeal on me and no growling noises and that was like 50 miles ago im now almost at 300 miles on this clutch and it feels like everything is coming together. In the end ive got a 15k mile/12 month full warranty on parts and labor.

450 miles on the clutch and yesterday was my first day without a squeal. seems he was right. on to the next repair, bent inner right tie rod, doing this one myself. Mechanic wants $250 which includes the alignment. cant believe there wanting $85 for the part. Shopped around and found the going rate for the standard part was $20. I went with Moog $40 which appears to be a much beefier part, glad i did.
