Ordered. Autoanything.com $47. Once I pick it up at the dealer on Friday, it will be my first upgrade.

good choice on a first upgrade.. you should probably consider a snorkel delete to compliment this :)

If you looking for a sound change, you can leave off the cover on top and you dont have to worrie about the filter falling out. But it give the car a really great sound!!

Ok, dropped it in tonight. Seems a bit louder (but could be placebo). If anything, at least I never have to buy another air filter again!

Did you leave the cover off or did you put the cover back on?

Cover on - doesn't seem like a good idea to leave it off. Hot air, more dirt. I mainly did it for the lifetime service life and a little better breathing (I realize this is minimal).

yeah i understand. But i did a check on how it would change the temp. i have a scanner that i can look at live data and yes its warmer when you are sitting at a light but when u are moving the temp is only 2 degrees hotter than with the cover on. and no matter what that k&n fliter is a great filter and will stop anything

Still not my thing...I like minor mods but tend to keep things as close to stock as possible. I agree that at highway speeds, the temps will be close with all of that air moving through the engine compartment! I could see taking off the snorkel...

I'm the same way, I tend to make very few changes of any significance as that usually effects resell value in a negative way and I tend to replace after about 5-6 years. I have lowered the suspension in the past (1998 Acura Integra GSR) but that's about the most I'd attempt. Engine mods in particular are problematic as very few actually improve the power/economy balance and many adversely effect both.

I plan to paint my brake calipers and may do some other cosmetic changes but nothing significant.

I'm a leave the cover on the intake and if it's hotter when it's uncovered then it's simply a noise mod and nobody needs to hear an intake 2 miles away since I don't no anybody who's impressed with that.

Filtering job is still better with an OEM filter since there's a reason you make a bump in power with the K&N and the reason it flows better is it does have a slight compromise toward filtering.
With that said I still might do the K&N eventually since I like the re-useability.
