Sync - how to stop playing music - USB, iPod

Wife has new 2013 Ford Focus hatch SE -
It has the basic Sync feature, with the simple dash display screen.
We have tested it with both a USB flash drive, and also an iPod Nano 6th gen via the USB 30-pin Apple cable.

I can see the albums, artists, etc - and click "ok" on the dash to start playing, but then - - How do you STOP the playing and get back to Albums, Artists, etc...

Hi, ps56k -

You can press the voice command button anytime to give a command for a specific song, artist, album, or genre.

Otherwise, press the MENU button, select SYNC MEDIA > PLAY MENU.

There's also an option to EXPLORE USB.

We are trying to stay with the menu world vs voice world - one challenge at a time -

Microsoft must have used the same VISTA team to develop SYNC.

I was in the MEDIA menu, and could see, select, and play the music,
WHY on earth would I even think of going outside the local menu structure
to Stop the current music :)

I will have to try and remember to use the MENU button,
to see how to nav thru the music.

BTW - I'm guessing that is where the "Select Source" is also hiding, to choose from the default of Sync Line In - to the USB selection.

Voice commands are way easier. such as -
Play all
Play artist Garth Brooks
Play track The Dance
Play genre country

Trust me. once you get used to it - you will like it.... and you don't even have to take your eyes off the road!

I'll butt in here for a question.
When I have the USB plugged in and start the car, the music starts up and I rather it not auto start/play.
How to stop auto play of an USB attached device?

Also, anyone tried using one of those USB (USB powered) hard drives?
Does it work?
I have a 1TB USB powered drive that I was thinking about dusting off, loading it up with everything I own music wise, and trying it out. I'm assuming when the car is powered off, the power to the USB is also powered off.
Then also, I'd probably have to use some mp3 I'd tag editing program to make sure all the I'd tags are properly set. Then displayed properly. Ripping the music cd to mp3 files would most,likely need some I'd tag tweaking.
