Eff the neighbor. It's yours. I get my balls busted all the time. Don't really care what people think.

I'm all for plasti-dip... but not for stripes. Vinyl will likely last longer if you get good stuff.

You don't want to dip large areas. The finish is horrible and inconsistant. I did a stripe on my hood with multiple coats, still looks crappy. Plus, you have to keep removing the tape between coats or it will stick to the tape. You'll never get a crisp edge on the stripes.

today I worked on the stripes with much more success. Thanks again for your advices. I did the roof and turned out way better. Did the spoiler too. It took a good deal of time to get one part to stick before moving onto the contour and then wrapping it around a bit to stick. I have just enough vinyl left to re-do the hood because it turned out pretty bad, and to do the rear. I'm afraid to do the rear yet because there is a lot of contours there on the sedan.

I'll post pics ASAP.

kinda funny... as i was finishing up today some neighbor came outside and said the blue doesn't match and that it looks "shitty" . I really do appreciate the criticism but come on. In truth the color I ordered looked darker online. But I think it looks good. I like it. and that's all that matters, right? ;-)
Tell your Neighbor to F off. I tell mine all the time. its fun!

You can dip large areas consistently if you were to get a spraygun for it, or the dipyourcar.com car kit. I would definitely not dip a large area with just the standard spray can though, that would look awful. Then you just have a removable rattle-can paint job.
