Empty Hole (Inb4 sex jokes)

On my 2003 ford focus 2.0 SOHC SPI engine right next to the spark plug holes and to the left of the coils boot, theres an empty threaded hole, is that suppose to be there and if so what is its purpose?

threaded hole right below spark plug wires, whats it for?

If I remember right it's just a spare hole that you can use to hook a cable or chain to when you need to lift the engine out.

On my son's 2002 Focus SOHC it's where the negative battery cable bolts
to the head. 15mm bolt.

Plenty of empty holes on engines, some used on other models of car same engine used in.............may have an engine hoist loop there on some.
