?? On cam and jrsc+bbk

I've done ordered cat cam turbo grind for a turbo setup
My question is what can I expect to get with a fully built motor turbo cams and jrsc+bbk

Also with supertech 85.5 over bore low c/r.

Am I going to have to get my head decked an run thinner HG going from a turbo build to a SC set up

In my opinion you would want to run lower compression with SC as well , the problem is the SC out for the Focus dont move a lot of air

Bigger cams will lower the amount of boost the small jrsc SC will be able to make , go turbo and save your self a lit of time and frustration

... The motor not built yet, parts have already just been ordered.

So stay with turbo build plans...
Or if I did go with SC using the svt cams would be better

One more question... Can I break the new in about 1k, motor built for a turbo without a turbo. just run my svt header an exhaust.

I wouldnt do cams with any boost , Yes you can run a Boosted built engine NA if you choose to , I would make sure the tune is safe

Only reason I'm wanting to break it in NA is because. I'm still missing some pieces of the puzzle for the turbo kit.

An I have a NA tune from you already... Will probably going though you for turbo tune too

How is that a good thing , If he is making say 10psi and say 220hp and adds cams and makes 8psi and 220 hp where did he gain the gains for the cost of the cam

Curious about your thinking ?

Short answer - PV=nRT

Long answer - Because it won't work that way. It is a positive displacement blower so it moves the same amount of air each revolution. So unlike a compressor, boost is nothing more than a measure of restriction after the blower. Boost causes higher drive losses and, more importantly, more heat. As you well know, that is the last thing a JRSC needs. For a roots blower, unless you go too far with the overlap and are therefore wasting energy, you want the highest power at the lowest boost level. This is why cams for roots blowers aren't the same as they are for compressors. If you add cams and lower the boost level, you will gain power from the loss in heat build, at the very least.

From my under standing the cams have a short duration and hight lift, an designed to have zero valve overlap.

FYI the jrsc and intake mani has been port an polished... Would have meth kit too
