I ordered up the trio of decals today (back, front, steering wheel) but wasnt able to get the vinyl overlays so I went with a place that does the domed 3D decals. I've gotten badge and wheel center cap logo decals from this company before and all have been top notch so I'm looking forward to installing these. I went with the blue Ford lettering since I thought that would look best with the exterior color of the car and the wheel caps I plan to get later.

Mirror wrap finished today...the installer encountered a LOT more problem with the shape of the mirror than he expected so there are a few tiny wrinkles here and there but overall I am very pleased with the result

I think the distortion of the design gives a waving checkered flag kind of feel while still being symmetrical for the most part. Cant wait for the oval emblem overlays to get here!

That looks awesome!! I didn't know how it would look with the blue but that came out really nice! Do you mind if I ask how much those vinyl wraps cost?

Hmmm, not so sure about the checkered stuff,it stands out too much and pulls your eyes to the mirrors and away from the rest of the car and the checkered flag stuff should be left to the Mini crowd since they like overdoing everything.
The rest of the car looks pretty nice.

Hmm . I think it could be nice if they went with something. Like a checkered roof. Otherwise I feel they look out of place. I'm liking the idea though :)

My original thought had been to have the mirror panel painted in which case I think I would have gone with a blue/white pattern but since the vinyl was pre-printed I stuck with the black checker.

I feel the overall look will be good when I get the other planned mods on the car. With the interior being charcoal/white is good to begin with and my "BlueJay" decals are blue/black/white in keeping with the color trio.

I think the checkered background Ford oval decals will help tie in the exterior as well as the checker background wheel center caps I will be getting for the new wheels when they arrive (need to know cap diameter before I can order those...see images of those decals earlier in this thread)

As far as inspiration or "over-doing it" LOL...I must plead guilty to being a MINI-wannabe. I shopped for MINIs before I bought BlueJay, but they are too pricey for what you get. The Focus is a much better car in more than a few areas (price/power/practical use/options)...and is without a doubt just as much (if not more) fun to drive. However, I do love the zany fun of the MINI and the huge list of accessories to personalize the car.

To me, cars have always been about personal expression and I'll be happy to wear a wide smile past any MINI owner that they dont have a corner on the market of fun, and do it without killing my wallet.
