That's right, but peak HP tends to not be peak rpm, on other cars there is torque management that limits power above a certain rpm so that during the shift power is lower, so on ours say they raise redline and then at 7k rpm torque is limited to 175 so that during the shift torque is not so high that it damages the DCT then once the shift is done torque limit is removed. VW has a torque limit on the DSG that capped torque and tuners were disabling to get more power and tuning the shifts so it wouldn't grind. It was capped at 258 ft lbs, but tuners were getting to 368 safely. Injected might now if there is a cap from ford on the DCT for torque or if the DCT tuning would make going higher would be safe.

Effectively lowers the operating temperature of the cooling system to 180 degrees. I hope they're planning to also add this into the tune so that the fans are programmed to turn on sooner. This would be highly valuable to you living in a hotter climate state such as Texas. Heat kills power.

I believe Aron already mentioned that the tune is provisioned to run the 180* tstat. It won't harm anything if you don't have it though.

No joke! I do feel like there has been a slight decrease in power since the heat and humidity started

^This. A 180 degree thermostat does nothing for you without changing the operating parameters of the fan. It will open sooner than a 195, but engine temps will rise to normal without earlier fan intervention. Injected's tune does cover that.

The most beneficial aspect of the lower operating temps will be seen by those that live in hot climates. Higher temperatures will cause detonation/ping due to higher cylinder temps, and when the ECU senses it it will pull timing. Less timing equals less than optimal power, but with a lower temperature thermostat and earlier fan intervention it won't occur as early. This allows for more advanced timing resulting in more power, more complete combustion, and better engine efficiency. Outside of that, lower temperatures overall will assist in making additional power.

I don't blame you and always advocate testing/research before purchase. Intake temps aren't going to be what you want to look for, you're going to want to be watching your water temps and timing.
