It's probably not easy and you'd slip the hell out of the clutch on a take off and potentially between gears, but the cars would run up to around 40 mph in 6th with a 6 speed, or maybe a bit more or less with the 5 speed.

The Cobb AP I had in my Legacy GT had an anti-theft map. Start, idle, run ok, but shutdown when revved past 1500rpm.

Maybe Aron has already chimed in, but maybe not...

I have not tried the 1500rpm tune, but I do not believe it is a 1500rpm rev-limit guys. Instead, it is a 1500rpm idle speed with everything else stock. This higher idle lets you use the de-carbon kit they sell without needing a helper to hold the throttle at 1500rpm or so when doing this.

I do not know where the idea that this is some sort of valet tune in disguise came from, but correct me if I am wrong Aron, this is not the case:

It is a stock tune with a high idle.

I thought it was just a locked 1500rpm.

You are correct sir. I have done the De carbon clean with the 1500rpm tune with Aron.
