2003 Lighting/Instrument Cluster problems

The instrument cluster 'jumps'. The speedo just goes off, comes back on sometimes... fuel gauge does the same thing. the interior lighting is stuck on dim, but sometimes will function. The cigarette lighter also does not work (Haven't tested the plug yet)

Does the Focus have a common grounding issue, or do these all sound random and unrelated?

my cig lighter didn't work when i got the car, all it was was the fuse. check that? as for the other things, sounds like grounding. AFAIK the ground for that stuff is behind the driver side left kick panel. check there?
