No offence taken, just my input from living in Europe & North America. As far as comments on free higher education and health care, didn't anyone ever tell you nothing in life is free.
All this so called free stuff is taken from each and every working persons pay cheque.

Any way back to the topic of Euro features not available to North American Focus shoppers

I know on the taxes, it's no joke, VAT is a killer too besides that.

Total Tax Wedge Denmark vs. USA for a single worker, is only a difference of 14.2%, not bad for all inclusive education and perpetual healthcare coverage (that's costing me $6K/year currently).

http://www.nationmaster.com/compare/...tates/Taxation

"When you work in Denmark, you must pay taxes on your salary to the Danish state. When you pay taxes, you contribute to the Danish welfare system. Many services that strain household budgets in other countries are either free or state-subsidised in Denmark. This includes free education from primary school to university, and free access to medical help and hospital treatment for you and your family. Furthermore you have free access to roads, highways and libraries. Childcare and care for the elderly are subsidized by the state and you only pay a user-charge for these services. "

Anyways, I still think Europe get's better features and often better choices in cars at least in the compact market.

Wooooow.

Not aware anyone needs to have 'a beef' with someone over a discussion regarding the cost of living. It's not like anyone's calling the other a lazy bum or something.

I would like the auto stop-start system and city stop feature and maybe the adaptive cruise control system and 1.6T 150 EcoBoost with 6 Speed manual. They are not available in the USA on a Focus and I don't think that's asking for much. It's not like I'm asking for an ECOnetic diesel Focus or 13 different versions of the Focus like in the UK.

Yep it is WAY cheaper to live in Europe than it does in the USA.

Vauxhall Astra GTC, SEAT Leon Cupra, Renault Clio and etc.

Keep in mind Lincoln is going to launch a compact this fall, based on the Ford Focus. Looks like it will retain all of the steel of the current Focus and just new fascias and interior. Not sure if they will offer a hatch, but this test mule is a sedan. I bet those are HID projectors too.

I think though when Ford offered the Titanium, they were testing the waters for higher priced compacts. Since they dumped off a lot of their brands and other makes, they just now have Lincoln for the Luxury but a lot of the Titanium models are becoming more than what Ford was known for in the past. Seems to me like they are slowly increasing content, just not fast enough for me.

I would surely would pay a little more for certain things if they were available, but most of the cars on the lot are what they are and that's it. Even if I wanted to custom order one, there really isn't too much you can add.
So far that's just rumor and speculation, the original mkc concept was the Lincoln Focus, this was just a mule on the way to the scrap yard it looks like on the back of a Roush truck. If anything this would have only been the prototype mules for the stillborn Mercury Focus, so far nothing has indicated that there will actually be a Lincoln version of the Focus to compliment the MK-C which is based on the Escape which is based on the Focus already.

It's hard to say at this point, but everything I read states it's on track to be produced and Lincoln needs something to compete against the Buick Verano.

Exhaust tip is on the right path at least, looks better than the stock Focus set-up.

I want the automatically deploying Focus MK3 door edge guards that the Germans have. It should bolt up, and appears to work off the "door open" switch. Bet it would be plug and play if you could get the parts!

I saw those, but they do not work in reverse, that is pop out to deflect careless people who park next to you.

^^Yeah. I thought of that. It's only half a solution... the half that exists because I have a 13 year-old son, which is to say, a blithering idiot who does, then thinks. They are really cool, though.

Body moldings? They work, but then, you have ruined the look of your car with body moldings. Meh.
