changing eras

well, the time has come. 12 years, 130,000 miles. 32 states, two coast-to-coast trips. it's time for my eggyolk ZX3 to give way to something more family-friendly. i've got two boys in carseats now.

it's replacement: 2013 Titanium hatch w/handling. i'm giddy. and terrified. must cover all that leather before it gets goldfish and cheerios permanently ground into it.

one of my wife's friends is really interested in the ZX3. she's in Seattle. maybe a 3rd coast-to-coast trip is in its future. :)

today i'm installing the backseat protector, and tomorrow or tuesday i put in two carseats. :)

yeah there are a couple other people who have driven the yellow one who are now expressing interest. there's nothing super modified about it, it's just fun to drive. i'll miss it. trading it wasn't an option; with the modified suspension and age (even though there is zero rust on the car) they would have to wholesale it. they refused to even tell me how much $ they would give me because they know i love the car. :)

but the new car, geesh. it's like a fighter-jet in there. all i need now is to figure out where i can put my radar detector. and i guess i'm hard-wiring it (got the kit for that) because the only 12v ports available are dead-center in the console by the cupholder, and the backseat heh.
