I love the Mazda 3 my fiancé and I ought for her... Even the auto with the fake manual trans is fun to drive.... And since its pretty much a focus I can work on it easily.... I see no downfall of jumping to a Mazda, ESP. If you are ganna look at speed6s... They are a freakin blast!

Like previously said, get another zetec, sell your wheels and other aftermarket parts and sell it mostly stock. My buddy has a MS3 and it's probably the most fun thing i've driven. just as long as you stay around the forums man, do as you wish.

I hate to say it, but it sounds like the Focus is just making you unhappy while taking up space, sucking your money away, and straining your marriage. Part it out and scrap the rest. I don't think it's necessary to return it to stock if it doesn't even run.

No use keeping something around that only makes you miserable. Keep the photos and the good memories, and have a little man-cry every once in a while. Think of it like a girl that was good to you many moons ago. And of course - enjoy the Mazda ;)

I would keep it but that's me heck my car has been off the road for almost 3 years so i know the level of frustration you have. i have though of parting it out but i know i would regret it down the road so that's why I'm sticking it out.

i agree with a few others, swap in another zetec, enjoy it for a few months then sell it. I know we all love our cars here but some are starting to get really old and becoming maintenance hogs. and sometimes its just best to part ways and move on

If I can find a zetec for the price range I'm looking for and I can find someone willing to help me get it. Id like to get it going to at least make the trip to FocusFest. I'm going regardless but what I'm driving is still in the air. Yea maybe the love will come back, but as of now the last thing I want to be doing is pulling another engine in a car I've lost all motivation on.

With the money you put into it trying to make it work just so you can risk blowing it up a third time isn't worth it. Unless you're going to modify it greatly, it's not worth the effort.

Part it out and get that ms6

Buy an MS3 and call it a day. Way faster, way sportier, and way more fun than your Focus would be with a Zetec.

My buddy has an MS6, and don't get me wrong.. it's a blast. But they're known for having issues. Especially with the drivetrain, IIRC.
