I'm this close...... from parting out my focus and calling it day. Talk me out of it.......

For those who don't know, my focus has been sitting since august. It dropped a valve seat as I suspected it would eventually I had the funds to do a engine swap.

Did a zetec swap late september, just to have it grenade it self on the the second turn over. At the ford dealership after they reprogrammed the keys for the zetec.

I towed it home pushed it into the garage and forgot about it. After going three months with no car and realizing the waste of one I had sitting.

I went and got approved to buy used car. I bought a 2004 mazda 6 Sport.

I've been putting money into the 6 and I've really fallen in love. Just upgraded the brakes, now I'm looking into wheels and suspension.

I think I might part out the focus, buy another mazda, But this time a MS6 and call it day.

Talk me out of it, please.

No I would get rid of the focus before I would get rid of the 6. I love the leather, the power, the ride, the handling, the options, the looks.

I know a few MS6 owners and a couple for sale. I want the V6 for cruising and the turbo AWD for fun. I like the mazda3s that what I was in the market for when I was car shopping but I found the 6 and never looked back.

But why do you need two Mazda 6's?

Once you get a MS6 or MS3, you'll fall in love with that car and start forgetting about your current 6.

I'd suggest stripping the 6, buying the car you really want (a MS6 or whatever) and going from there.

As for the Focus, you already have it ready for a Zetec swap, so I'd try to finish it, and than decide if you want it or sell it as a running car to someone else.

Keep in mind I'm married. We currently share the mazda. The mazda is to be hers once I got the focus going but I fell in love with it, now I thinking of getting something else for her. Or letting her have the mazda and getting me something like a ms6.

She really don't want the focus any more cause she don't think it will ever be reliable again. Putting another used engine in it, is just going to be getting someone elses headache.

Put another used zetec in the focus. Sell it as close to stock as possible. It will give you a little extra money to save for the MS3/6.

This.

You won't be able to get much out of it if you sell it as-is. Only way to even come close to getting any kind of money off it is by swapping in a working Zetec. Who knows, after you do that, you might just enjoy it again.
