Good to know. Last fill up Costco was $.40 cheaper than local gas station.

Many rewards credit cards do this.

I get 5% back on gas/groceries.

Sam's and Costco are first rate fuel operations. I've seen franchise Shell, Exxon, Conoco, Chevron, and Texaco stations that were definitely NOT first rate. If the place looks junky, you really think they're keeping their filters cleaned, etc???? And you think they keep those Sams/Costco stations spotless and ignore the filters?

The one thing on here that is accurate is the truck at the station - I go elsewhere if it is, too... but even at that, the filters in their system SHOULD handle it.

Costco is my go to gas now, but I used Chevron for several thousand miles before it. I didn't see much of a mileage difference, and although the Chevron gas has more additives, I don't think it'll make a noticeable difference in the longevity of the engine unless you plan to drive it into the ground.

Most of those additives are useless in MK3s, as well, since the MK3 engine is direct injected. The fuel never touches the intake ports, valve stems/guides, etc. Put some Lucas in the tank to lube your injectors, maybe, and buy your fuel at a station that looks like it cares enough to change its filters regularly.

Just my $0.02.
