Driver door stuck shut-possible cure

Just had a driver door stick shut when I went to open it. Door handle worked partway and then nothing. Then door won't open on outside or inside, the locking mechanism seems all springy/seized instead of the normal on/off click you feel and won't unlock.

How to get door open now that you can't open it to remove the inside door panel?

I removed the torx behind the blind cover to hole behind the door handle, then removed door handle assembly and worked the cable off of it. Thinking somehow the sucker has locked itself at same time it was supposed to be unlocking and has seized up the works. Took a well worn set of visegrips with worn tip teeth and clamped onto the inner cable and started to push it INTO the outer cable housing, the trick is to get grips out far enough to allow more cable to go in while also not allowing enough cable to flex all over and kill your effort. Settled on about 3/8" space to work with. Forcing the cable in at first nothing then it moved a slight bit in a dragging jerk and then more. Loosen grips and get another bite and even more went in, I'm slowly pulling the latch assembly out of 'locked' position. After three bites of cable it was all the way loose and now door unlatches with the handle and outside again and I didn't have to destroy the door panel to get inside.
