I personally have never had any problems with Chrysler. The one thing they are notoriously bad at is automatic transmissions. It seems that most of the people I know that own a Chrysler product with an automatic transmissions has already had them replaced before 100,000 miles. Since 1992 I have had seven Dodge/Chrysler vehicles with over 150,000 miles on them. Thankfully they were all manual transmissions also lol.

Those sort of zealous types really irritate me. In my experience its usually the Chevy fanatics that are the worst offenders, and I would say VW nuts are close second. I didn't know what to call them in the past but I think "fanboy" is the best way to sum it up.

The most pathetic case I remember was one D-bag on a construction site, inhis 30's devoted to his POS stock cavalier that was on its second transmission and 3rd head gasket. I remember him saying something to the effect of "I know I've had to spend a lot of money fixing it, but damn! Chevy Speed!"

In other words it wouldn't have mattered if it was the worst piece of crap in the world, he was just that deeply infatuated with the idea of driving a Chevrolet.
I could go on with stories about those types, but that would need another thread of its own.

And to the OP: Congrats on the Dart. I guess you can't be blamed too much for wanting something different after the trouble you had with your particular focus.

This! I would be hard pressed to ever purchase another GM product personally. Only complaint about the dart is that I wish dodge would not have restyled it as I preferred the fiat body.

I used to have a ton of old ChryCo products. 60 Valiant, 64 Dodge 330, 67 Barracuda, 72 Dart, 74 Satellite, and a 79 step side truck. Their old stuff had problems, but so did everyone else.

I never owned an 80's turbo ChryCo like I wanted. I've looked at them, but never found one that I had to buy.

My best friend had a 92 Dynasty that went for over 300k miles with no major problems. It had a 2.5 SOHC 4 cyl. Someone who worked on that car early in it's life believed in blue thread lock. It was on everything- which is probably what held it together.

Anyone can make a lemon, and anyone can make the most rock solid car ever. That's how it works.

Time to lock it up!
