antenna base removal?

Hey guys, im looking for some instructions for removing the antenna base from my car. The myfordfocus site doesnt have any pics, and isnt very clear on its terminology. Can anyone who has pics on removing please post.

The reason i need to remove the base, is to route the wire from my new XM radio antenna outside behind the antenna into the car and to the reciever. I may have to do some trimming, but hopefully it will turn out good.
thanks again
alan

p.s. Ill post pics when im done.

go to www.teamfocus.us then go to the how to's. There you will find a topic on how to remove your antenna base. Good luck..

I don't have any pics, sorry.

It's pretty simple though... take off the maplight plastic cover, you can just let it hang, not undo the wires or anything. Then there's a screw up there, just about in the middle, exactly under where the base is. Send a small screwdriver up there to undo it and the base comes right off.

I will try to get some pictures tomorrow on my day off if you need them and no one else has posted any by then.

thanks a bunch. The guide that evo foci had will work just fine. I was just confused about all the wording that myfordfocus used. Ill try to post some pics of the installed XM antenna sometime later this week.

Ah he posted while I was typing, oops.

Well good luck and I'll look forward to the pics. What kind of XM transmitter did you get? (Roady, integrated receiver, etc?)

i got the roady 2 (XM brand, not sirious). currently i have it placed on a mount on the air vent in the center. Seems to be fine, and it has a color to nearly match the green lighting of the radio/guages.

hopefully i can get the xm antenna wire seemlessly through the regular antenna base, or else i might have to use some epoxy and a little filing to make it fit flush.

Oh cool, I have the original Roady... I usually keep in on SKy Blue because the green is Just different enough to annoy me!

I would try to offer you tips on this but I made Best Buy install the thing for me. I installed a new HU + trunk CD changer in my last car and didn't want to bother with the Roady (plus it was January and freezing)!
