On the note of swaps, I'm probably buying an MX5 of some sort next year, and if I can't find a MSM turbo, I might get a nice and cheap LS and try and find an S2k motor or the like to throw into it.

I looked hard, HARD, at a Mustang GT when I bought these focuses. If I wasn't buying cars for the very purpose of driving something with great fuel economy, I would have bought 1 GT instead of 2 Foci, and pocketed the difference. It would have bought quite a few tanks of gas!

Sigh.

I have a probably unhealthy fondness for the Fiat 500 (both regular and Abarth). I'm not sure I could ever rationalize buying one when you can get a B segment car for the same money with much more useable space.

Now if only Fiat sold a similarly styled car that was B-segment sized and perhaps called "Fiat 600"...

I've owned a Miata. Even the regular 1.8L is a blast. It's fun to "work" for the speed instead of actually having the power to accelerate quickly.

Interestingly enough, and apropos of a rather pointed argument on another thread, nobody has mentioned anything diesel here. LOL. Thanks, folks, for giving me ammo for the other thread!

Yeah, they're incredibly charming little cars. A similar car I want (and it goes beyond 'just because') is an AE86. I'd have to have a wad of cold hard cash and be on the lookout for a GOOD LONG WHILE to find a good one. I found one a few months ago, but alas, was $7500 short. :(

Edit: I'd totally buy a diesel, OpsDad! I think I mentioned elsewhere that I'd love a Fiesta diesel.

There are so many cars I would buy if I could but the first thing I'll buy when I hit the jackpot is a Honda del Sol SiR

I'd trade my Mach 1 on a 13 Boss 302. I've always wanted a FX4 as well. Those new projector hids they're offering on the f150 are awesome looking.
