Tire Puncture - How Much?

Sooo....1st post.
Seems like a great community here and wanted some input.

After only 800 miles on the new Focus, I got a "Low Tire Pressure" warning and found this:

I splurged on the 18" Sport package and chose NOT to get it repaired at my neighborhood since they scratched my previous rims pretty bad.

Paid $30 for the patch, and scratch free rim afterwards.

Thoughts?

jt.

Moved to: Wheels, Tires, Brakes & Suspension

And when you bought your car you should have received paperwork outlining the tire warranty (mine was with the owners manual) The warranty may or may not include Road Hazard Coverage, It if does this would have been a free fix at the dealer.

Only gonna know if its too big after dismounting. $30 isn't bad. I paid $38 within the last year. But like others stated I would check road hazard coverage.

I live with a back alley parking space, the drive is dirt and full of nails. Don't know what the hill I'm on was built up from, but nails expose with every rain. First year I was in the house had more than 30 flats. Buying road hazard policies just became a major hassle, whoever they were with would always service paying customers before they did what they considered 'freebie' work. After waiting 3-4 hours repeatedly for just plugging a tire I went to Walmart and bought the tire plugging kit and now plug my own, many without even removing the tire from car. One like that fixed in 3-4 minutes tops, and now I'm up to about 95% permanent success rate doing so. At the $30 charge mentioned here I couldn't begin to quantify the savings............................
