5MT SE/201A on order for my wife, local dealers only had one or two each and none had the options and color we wanted. ETA is currently 4/8 and the wait is hard for her.

Got the 5 speed as well, the wife absolutely hates it, doesn't want to learn and she believes it gives her headaches because of the gear changes. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Me and the girlfriend both have SEL with all the same options (exept for my sunroof) and 5 spd ! And we just love it ! I have a Pltainum White hatch and she has a Tuxedo Black Sedan! This way both cars drive the same and feel almost the same the only big difference on the inside is her car freshner fruity smell wich I don't really like lol

Your Saturn was boring so you went auto? Hmm... That sure is a head scratcher.
Lol ya I can see where that would sound strange. All the cars I've had over the years were'nt exactly what I'd call fun to drive.I always went standard because they were cheaper. When I bought the 2010 I decided to take a break from the stick and enjoyed the change.A fun factor never even occured to me when I looked at the 12's but after driving it a while it was obvious how much fun a stick would be in this car.But...2014 could see all that change

5 speed manual. I love it. A 6th gear couldn't hurt though.

5 speed here too. Love it! A 6th gear would be nice for a better final drive, but I do most of my driving 35 mph and less, so doesn't bother me much.

I read in other threads that they cruise about 3500 RPM I was surprised by that,I'm used to about 2200ish at highway speeds in a 5spd.From what I've read the mpgs are fine but at the end of the day an engine has X number of revolutions in its life, some more, some less.Just seems weird they're using up 700/800 RPMS per/min over the life of the car.It would have a quicker response when you kick it down at that rpm but you could get that by dropping a gear briefly.Just not sure what theyre logic was there.Anyway I agree either a 6th gear or slightly higher gear for 5th would make more sense to me.

I thought it was that high at 75-80. I honestly go the speed limit (65 around here) on the highway because that gets me the best mileage and I think it's a lot closer to upper 2000's at that speed? For places with 75 MPH speed limits, I can see the gearing starting to be a problem. I think Suss did the calculations and the DCT is only ~400 RPM lower than the 5 speed, but I'm too lazy to find that thread right now!
