I have several paint chips on the front bumper, hood, a few on the edge by the wipers (not sure if I did that or if it was a manufacturing defect, one by gas door (don't know how that happened - semi perhaps?), and a 2 or 3 nice long scrapes on the driver-side door that I put there while washing my car on a gravel driveway. When I pulled the hose to wash the other side of the car, the hose flipped over and scraped the rocks on the door.

I have a hole in the back of my driver's seat leather that came with my new car and I think those are the only cosmetic issues with my car. The rest are rattles and the obvious functional issues everyone else is having .

I got some chips on the hood and some scratches by the doors. I will be taking my car in to get detailed, so hopefully the guys at the shop can buff that out. The chips on the hood most likely will need to get painted, I will let the pros tell me more.

wow! Sounds like theres a few others out there with dings on their car. I guess i've been lucky with nothing being done on the hood, i guess thats where most of the imperfections would stand out.

I tried to take pictures of the dings on my car, didn't really show though on the pictures maybe because of the way the sun was shining, and this was after i patched things up with touch up paint and wax. Anyways by the sound of it mine isn't the only one that's been dinged. Guess it makes me feel a bit better :)

im at 12 months and 22,000km (however many miles that is)

If you get a chance maybe do a before and after photo? Ive always been curious as to how much a detailer can actually remove.

Great idea, I will take some shots before the detailer, highlighting any scratches and after shots.

Winter really tears up cars especially when you get "fenderbergs" in the wheel wells and smacking hard snow and ice on the front lower lip not to mention the hood chips. Definetly makes me want to put a strip of clear bra across the leading edge of the hood.

To be honest I never really noticed the toll winter takes, guess I never cared in my old cars. I find most of the damage I have on my focus now in terms of small scratches are from the larger salt clumps on the highway, and its mostly on the side and rear of my car for whatever reason.

Just some minor paint chips and somehow a very superficial scuff mark on the top of my rear bumper.

Mini Heads Up

I wiped down all the door jams for the 1st time. Both top hinges on the front doors had scratches down to the bare metal just below the nut on the skin.Must be a tight spot for theyre tool.An easy one to check for a change.

>>Correction: just checked if they needed another coat.It was top hinge passenger side, bottom hinge drivers.I'd check them all to be safe<<
