To their credit, the claims say "up to" and are the same for all vehicles. It's just a generic claim. Ripoff Report has nothing but what looks to be one complaint. Searching around it seems somewhat legit, but this is NOT a tuner. Keep that in mind.

IMO they are not worth the $70.

They are only a hack that changes the output signal of an existing sensor, usually the IAT signal.

Here is something that explains how all of these $50-$70 performance chip "Hacks" work.

Remember "up to" can, and always does, include 0!

It will do nothing but take money out of your wallet. Though that reduced weight will marginally increase your performance.

Unfortunately, I tried something very similar from a different supplier for two of my vehicles, and I can safely say, DON'T DO IT! Similar claims but in reality, I did not see any MPG or horsepower increase. Had to work hard to get my money back since the supplier I worked with kept telling me I was doing everything wrong. But after sending them pictures how I installed their products to showing them what my mileage was with their product installed, I got my money back. Actually had lost 1 mpg on one vehicle and no change on the other making sure I didn't change my driving style after the installs.

The problem with the internet today, well there are many many many things but yeah, is that your average individual does not know many legitimate information sources. Sure, we can say wikipedia is pretty darn close or popular sites like Anandtech, Gizmodo, Car and Driver etc. but it's not enough.

One of the best examples on vague 'truths' is looking up information on health remedies. There is sooooo much quasi science out there that it is hard to know what is fact or fiction.

Best thing you can do is to look at what the pros do. They do not take shortcuts and for VERY good reasons. Not everyone can spend the money they do but use your imagination.

Good example: Ford Racing came out with an overpriced intake kit for the ST that consisted of the K&N drop in filter and a simple air scoop that replaced the intake snorkel (approx $300!). What did I do? Buy the K&N drop in for $50CDN and removed the snorkel and used a license plate to guide the air to the inlet in a similar fashion. Works wonders.

So yeah, look for grassroots/shadetree modding to professional solutions.
