amp/sub question

I just hooked up a amp and subs in my truck.

Ive done it a few times before, but Ive never had any problems.

My bass is constant... It doesnt change with my stereo volume at all.
it will change with the amp settings.

its really annoying and i cant figure it out.

any ideas?

Thanks!

Do you have an aftermarket deck?

Where are the gains set?

Do you have a meter?

Im on the factory radio. I thought it might be the LOC. but I got a new one, and no dice...

Im going to try hooking it up off of the amplified signal from my stock amp. I currently have it hooked up just off of the back of the stereo, maybe thats why?

all amp gains are as low as can go. If I turn them up the same thing happens, just louder (lol).

I'm really stumped on it...
Thanks!

I plan on double checking here in a bit...
Im pretty sure I did. I checked a wiring diagram and it shows I didn the rears. My first thought was I did the tweeters of something by accident.... But even still, the volume should change at least some?

If you wired into the correct wires for the signal to the amp then it sounds like your amp has a problem. It is called "DC Offset" and if your subs make a constant popping noise that sounds like a drum being hit at a constant speed then that's the issue. Your amp will need repaired.

Nope all is good now. I switched to the "amplified" signal off my factory amp and its all fixed.
