Headlight setting help

When I unlock the doors on my 09 coupe the headlights always turn on until I put the key in the ignition. I hate this feature. Does anyone know how to stop it from doing that?

The headlights do? You mean the amber running lights, which are also the turn signals?

When I hit unlock, the running light and turn signal filament come on and it's very bright. After a second or two the turn signal filament turns off leaving just the running light one going and that stays on for a bit.

I don't think any of our headlights should come on as there is no auto headlight feature in our cars?

No the headlights themselves turn on along with the driving lights/ turn signals.

Ya it is very annoying. No the alarm is stock. It only happens when I unlock it with the key fob I am pretty sure

Ya I don't understand it either. It seems like it might be a convenience feature or something. It's funny what things ford decided to add to the car as a stock option, like the TPMS sensors, instead of putting cruise control or traction control standard. Lol. I'm not complaining about the traction control tho, I'm glad I don't have it. I heard the cars w it are slower 0-60
