Where to begin?

I'm new to the forum might as well introduce myself.
I'm 19 years old and i recently purchased a beautiful focus hatchback as my first car. I'm very interested in upgrading it and i was wondering if some people could give me some ideas as to where to go and how to do it.

The furthest i would go is probably a cold air intake and a aftermarket exhaust system.

Thanks,

Connor

Begin here:

http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=174740

The brands that lots of us like that make quality parts for our cars are FSwerks, Steeda, and C-F-M (google for their web adresses, linking to them from here doesnt seem to work 100% of the time.)

I know of FSwerks and Steeda, haven't heard of C-F-M but will look it up.

Thanks!

Central Florida Motorsports is their proper title and they not only make parts but also sell parts from FSwerks and Steeda as well as other good brands.

Begin with basic maintenance, plugs, wires, filters, brakes, fluid flushes, suspension parts such as bushings and ball joints, wipers etc.....then hit the mods.

Would you recommend the Steeda intake or FsWerks intake?

I can provide you some feedback in regards to our CAI:

Our CAI is made in American and not shipped overseas for cheaper costs. We are an ISO 9001:2008 company which means we are held to very strict manufacturing standards.

Also we work closely with Ford Motor Company with the SEMA Technology Transfer Program:

http://www.steeda.com/blog/2013/03/s...g-and-quality/

We are currently running a promo where you get 10% off. Since your Avatar shows that you are from Canada then we would have to run the numbers and see what shipping would run you to that location.

Shoot me an email at tim@steeda.com if you would like me to quote a CAI to your location.

Best Regards,

TJ

MY bad, another great company for essential parts!

As for Steeda/FSWerks/CFM (or any other well made intake) its mostly going to be personal preference. The point is either option will be a vast improvement over stock and both are well made. Chose based on which one looks better to you, you are comfortable with and feel the price is right. Both enable you to service the filter element to keep it clean, increase performance and they will both sound nice.
