need help with coolant bypass cap

my gf has a 2005 ford focus and there are two "ports" coming out of the left side of the radiator (facing it from hood) that have these caps on them. I went and bought some and found one that fit. However, i was told the ones i got werent the right ones even though they are getting the job done, and that i should replace them due to being cheaply made and wont hold up long to the pressure. I am just looking for a diagram that will give me the size of it or if anyone knows what i am talking about, please give me a fix for the situation. She is going out of town sat and i want to make sure she is taken care of. Please help

Why are you needing caps now? If manual transmission car then the holes may be for ATX cooler loop, they simply stay open if not used and leak nothing..............

automatic

The cap on the bottom half was dry rotted and shot. Not one service place knew what I was talking about either. Its an automatic. They have no hoses attached that go anywhere. I found some real cheap made ones from orileys but I'm nervous about how they'll hold up.
