lol My auto V6 ran 15s with mods, but a stock 5spd V6 from the same year would run low 15s, right along side an old Foxbody. They are slow as balls. You can claim whatever you want for your modified whatevers, but from the factory back in 1993-95 Mustangs were super slow. You're talking about anywhere from 150-180rwhp from a 5.0 V8. Sure they had torque advantages, but they were slow by today's standards, even by standards of 10 years ago. A 2004 Mach 1 with 305 hp would run a mid 13 and an 04 GT with 260hp would run low-to-mid 14s, low 15s if it was an auto or convertible.

Boils down to this: Stock for stock, an early 90's 5.0 is just as slow an an early 00's V6. You can't argue it because there's nothing to argue. Facts are facts and physics are physics. If you had an early 5.0 that ran anything faster than a 15, it was not stock.

For reference:
1995 5.0 rated at 215hp@4200RPM/285tq@3400RPM + approx 15% drivetrain loss = 183whp/237wtq
2004 3.8 rated at 197hp@5500RPM/225tq@2800RPM + approx 15% drivetrain loss = 168whp/191wtq
A difference of 15whp/46wtq
1995 Mustang 5.0 = 3280lb Final drive 2.73
2004 Mustang 3.8 = 3290lb Final drive 3.27
If you take into consideration the V6 Mustang's ability to get peak torque at lower RPM and it's higher final drive ratio, they are evenly matched.

I'm right, that's all there is to it. You already said your Mustang wasn't stock so I couldn't possibly care less what you think.

I take it you were not driving in the 1980's?, those slow 225hp 5.0 5 speeds were known to put down 200-205hp at the tires stock. Add in exhaust, pulleys, drop in air filter with no silencer, 180 thermostat, and 14 deg timing, you had 225-228 hp at the tires. Sure they don't make 300hp stock, but they did not need to when a stripped1987-1988 LX 5.0 coupe weighed 3000 lbs with a half tank of gas off the show room floor.
