Help: engine rebuild

How can I install racing camshafts in my focus? do I need to hire a professional tuner?

I would also like to know what other engine upgrades I could do to my 2.3l duratec. I want to build this thing up from the bottom up.

what exactly are you trying to do here? you can install camshafts very easily to do since there DOHC. but the problem there is if you want to utilize them to their full potential you can get some valve springs as well. but you have to check the clearance of the lobes to match the specs in wich they usually don't. wich is why a machine shop can do the install and make your buckets match the specs. if you want to build the bottom end invest in some coswort rods, for the duratec not sure if je makes pistons for them. now a shop must take these for balancing and if you go with an overbore then the block needs to be bored and honed. also with the engine build are you going for boost? if so you have to check the piston ring gap as well. theres quite a bit to do with a bottom end rebuild with aftermarket parts. such also as checking clearances with plastigauge

I'm looking for boosting it, just not yet.
I just want to have like a check list to what I need to buy once I buy it all I will find a way to install them.

right and remember to look for pistons of lower compression. id go with an overbore like I did that way a machine shop will bore your cylinder walls wich in turn basically makes your block like new
