Motor Blower Mystery
OK, so here's the situation:
I started experience noise from the blower motor which progressed to it not blowing much air, even in the #4 position. Soon thereafter, I started getting nothing at all(no noise, nothing) when I would turn the switch on. After replacing the blower motor, still nothing. I took it out and had it tested and it was fine. I also tested the wires and I got power..The connector to the blower motore registers .31 on the multimeter. I checked the fuses and they're fine. Then again, they would be if I have power at the wires. I changed the resistor and the fan blower switch and still nothing. I'm not at a loss for what the issue is...Any suggestions before I take it to the dealer????? |

Memory's not what it COULD be, but I THINK there was a fairly recent thread with a similar issue & the OP found there was LARGE fuse in the under hood fuse box he hadn't checked...
One quick check that comes to mind is checking for power with a test light instead of the multimeter. Meter can show power when there isn't enough current avail. to light a test light, so you can be "fooled" by that check sometimes.... Luck! |

When I first started having the noises with old motor, I could hear power and then after a few days, it stopped, altogether, so I know something blew. Could it be anything other than the wiring harness that connects directly to the motor and resistor? |

Is the fan stuck?

You looked specifically at fuse 64, right? In the underhood BJB but kind of away from the other fuse groups by itself (bettween the relays).

Shucks, hoped for an "easy" one after it happened to another member here... (under hood fuse)
How about that test light check? A "poor" connection somewhere would show power to the motor with a meter, while not carrying enough current to run it.... Proverbial "Ask me how I know" on that one... (grin) |

'Fraid not, without knowing where the leads are connected to & what setting on the meter (volts, ohms, range etc.)
