2013 New dual Exhaust

I got a custom exhaust installed on my car Friday. It was the first mk3 focus my exhaust guy has worked on, and we both agreed it was the best N/A 4cyl we both have ever heard. Its uses a 12in flowmaster muffler with stock piping with the stock resonator and mid muffler. There is zero drone on the highway and acceleration is like sex to the ear. When i shift there a slight pop. The only way to describe it is a mix between a Subaru when accelerating and a Maserati GranTurismo when I shift (makes like a sweet "blurrrrrbbbb" sound. Here's some pics will upload a vid when i get back into town.

That's not dual exhaust, its a lunchbox delete and replacement with a single in dual outlet muffler.

A dual exhaust system would have changed the pipes from the cat back to the rear of the car.

It might change the tone a bit, but I doubt you'll actually see any performance gains just from changing the final muffler

True, it does sound alot better than stock and adds looks to the car.

Can you really even have a dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder? I'm used to v8s that have a separate exhaust for each header in dual systems.

Not "true" duals like seperate piping from each header like a v6 or v8. I just meant it was a dual tip exhaust my bad didn't mean to cause a stir.

well, could you get a true dual exhaust if your head instead of being 4-2-1 or 4-1 is just 4-2 and then those 2 pipes go back separate?

Well I don't know if it makes a difference but that is a dual exhaust to me. The SVT Contour came from the factory with a dual exhaust. In that case the exhaust splits at the rear to two exits, which are actually balanced.

Tru-dual exhaust, on the Contour, is one exhuast pipe for each bank.

So that is always how I have heard the terms defined.

But I also agree that i would need to hear it. This sounds more like an axle back exhaust.
