OEM LED Accent Light Install?

Is there anyone who installed this on their Focus?

Are these a plug and play deal? My friend once had a Mazda 626 which did not have factory fogs but had the wiring harness installed and the connectors placed in the appropriate locations, basically a drop in deal with a fog switch going in the dash after a cover plate was removed.

Most cars are built to have all the connectors but you would most likely to have to put in a fuse

A co-worker installed one at work a few days ago, I had a chance to read over the instructions. It's plug and play save for I believe one tap into a wire (I forget which).

Do they look OEM or do they have a cheap/cheesy Pep Boys accessory look to them? I never seen them in person only some pictures. I found the echomaster site which look identical so I am guessing they are selling these to Ford but the directions look like wire cutting is involved.

The ones we had looked okay, but for some reason they were the matte black pieces which had then been painted, so they had orange peel. I'll be watching for a set of actual piano black or plastic pieces to come in.

In terms of overall appearance, they were really nice. Look OEM+.

I've looked into these online a bit- I really would like them to look OEM and I found ones a while back that had the LEDs on the very bottom as opposed to on the second last strip. Those to me looked the best, especially since a lot of them I saw didn't even extend the LEDs through the entire strip, they cut it short. The ones that I saw that had them on the very last strip actually took up its entire length. Looks like they're pretty hard to find though.

If there's a wire tap, I'd pay the stealership 49 bucks for the install and then you're not going to have warranty issues on your wiring, since it became a dealer-installed option of OEM accessory (a good place to begin your argument, at the very least).

What did they charge you for the install?

I'm not sure about your country. But, since I ordered them through the dealer, they didn't charge me anything except the item itself + VAT
