2005 focus starts then dies

first its a 2005 2.0 duratec 5 speed manual with a fswerks cai.

car started fine yesterday morning and after work it started fine. this morning i go to start it and the rpms go up to 2000 then they start to fall as normal but then it completely dies. it normally idles around 750 rpm and once in a while it will drop to almost stalling but then jump back up to its normal idle. i could not keep the car going in between shifts for the little time i drove it. also it is not throwing any check engine codes. i left it sit and drove my ranger to work this morning so this is all the info i have right now.

possible culprits i've dug doing a search are dirty maf, iac valve, pvc line collapsed or possibly a bad fuel pump.

any other thoughts would be helpful.

thanks

Any codes? I have had vacum leaks cause a high idle then when it dropped it would run rough then die almost imediately. PCV valve line was the problem on 3 of them. It was a 2.0 ztec in the zx2 escorts

ok so i picked up a iac valve on the way home and swapped it out. i checked the pcv hose and it looks good. while changing the iac i disconnected the battery to reset the pcm. at first it was doing the same thing but after i kept the revs up it settled down and idled just fine. i am going to give it time to cool down and start it again to see if i at least fixed that problem. i took it for a test drive and now it is studdering with a loss in power and when i got back from the test drive i smelt a faint burnt clutch smell so i think the clutch may have given out as well. any other ideas?
