NEW 2.5 Crower Forged rods have arrived!!!!!!!!!!

Just got the first sets today of the world's first (and only) forged connecting rods for the new 2.5 Liter I4 Ford Duratec / Mazda MZR engine! Made by Crower EXCLUSIVELY for Massive Speed, to our specs. Available in Sports Forged and Full Billet! Will be up on the site soon! This engine is found in 2009 and later Fusions, escapes, 6, etc and can be easily retrofitted into the Ford of your choice. Same external dimensions as the 2.3. A bolt in for the 2.3 Duratec Focus, and darn near for a 2.0.

Ahhhhhh! Finally some 2.5 duratec rods! Going to be building a complete 2.5 for my focus in the next year or 2. Building the 2.3 now. Any chance we may see a forged crankshaft instead of the cast cranks? I know the MZR motors supposedly have a forged crankshaft, as i've seen 830HP speed3's with stock crank and have never heard of one breaking. And it seems the cast crankshaft is the weak spot in the duratecs.

There are no factory 2.5 forged cranks. The speed did have a forged 2.3 crank, but it's not interchangable with any other Duratec, 2.3, 2.5 or otherwise.

I personally have yet to see a Duratec crank failure. I would never say that's a weak spot in the Duratec. If I was doing an all out 2.5 build, I'd have the balance shaft gear machined off and the crank nitrided and balanced. Good for lots of power.

Yeah, I knew the speed had a forged crank and that it wasn't interchangable with any duratec. Just wondering if a forged crank for the 2.5 was a possibility haha. But the balance shaft gear would definetly be deleted and the crank balanced but I never thought about having it nitrided. I'll have to look into that more.

Both versions of the new 2.5 Duratec / MZR forged rods are now up on the site.
