And, I might add, in my opinion, a 7.3 is the best diesel motor ever available in a Ford light truck. I started a thread on that over in the F-series talk on the sister forum to FocusFanatics.
Ahh I see, just wondering. I love the 7.3. I really really wanted a white cclb 97 but good luck finding that up here not rotted out or under 10k lol

Truck is in the shop, getting:
1. Head stud kit. No danger from now on of lifted heads.
2. EGR bulletproofing. All the benefit of EGR delete, with no inspection worry.
3. Oil cooler replacement.
4. Super duper "Black Diamond" gasket set. Just to be sure.

It is looking like the next step is re-gearing to 3.73s, which can be done under $2k with Yukon gears, tractor-pull quality race parts, and great differential kits. If that works out, I'll probably NOT re-wheel. We'll see... decision making still in process.

I've seen a lot of those= LOL. I've had many cabs hanging overhead for yrs. Just for the heck of it= Checkout a rocker. They look kind of cheesy, but they do the job. Kind of like the cheesy stamped timing cover of a D-tech.

I did. It's less cheesy than I thought, actually. They're very rigid in the direction they need to be!

Here are some pics of the flying cab and the engine. One of the things you'll notice is how pristine this engine is inside. 55,000+ miles and the honing swirls in the cylinders are still easy to see. With this bulletproofing, it'll go 350,000 miles or more. I'll never wear it out, my son might someday.

Great they got going on it for you. I always left the running boards on the rack. How do you like that chunk of billet alumium, that going over the top of your motor? I'd be installing the mount for the filter before you drop the cab. Perfect time to upgrade your turbo & down pipe now. LOL Your there, break out your c/c & get some more parts coming.
