5x108 to 5x114.3 hub

whats up with ford? they kmow damn well thats the most common and most "tuneable" bolt pattern to have pretty much endless selection of wheels. first 4x108 no 5x108 really?

enough with the rant. now onto my point, anyone ever redrilled theyr mk3 hubs to 5x114.3?

Why would you want 5x114.3 anyway. the new fusions and escapes use 5x108 also. The only vehicles from ford that still have the old 114.3 pattern is the mustang, edge and taurus. When the edge and mustang get redesigned, more than likely they will be 108 too.

I highly doubt Ford is concerned with how "tuneable" the bolt pattern is. It probably has something to do with this being a truly global platform and it not making financial sense to have a different bolt pattern for one or two markets.

yeah shared along brands that ford used to own. im no import lover but most if not all their compact cars use the 5x114.3 pattern, and theres a s**t load of aftermarket wheels for them not to mention used ones everywhere for cheap.

There is plenty of aftermarket support for 5x108, tire rack alone has several hundred choices listed (although some are different colored versions of the same wheels.

Its also an even number in metric as opposed to 5x4.5" (5x114.3).

Mazda is the odd one out, all the versions of the C1 platform cars (Focus/ Volvo V50/C30/S40/V40, etc) use the 5x108mm bolt circle, where as the Mazda uses the other pattern just to make things complicated.

Especially when much of the suspension is directly interchangeable.

Yes I enjoy the fact I can share wheels with a mustang or evo. I want to see what a set of FR500s will look like on a mazda6 so bad!!

I think all of mazda use 5x114.3 BTW.
Atleast the RX7, CX7, CX9, 626, 6, MX3 and RX8. All do at least.
